On October 18, 2013, the concluding G20 Task Force on Employment (ETF) Meeting within the year of the Russian Presidency was held at the International Labour Organization (ILO) headquarters in Geneva. The participants of the meeting summarized the results of the Task Force's work in 2013 and considered possible ways to fulfill the tasks set forth for the ETF by the G20 Leaders at the Saint Petersburg Summit.
The delegates touched upon monitoring of labor market development and assessed the progress already achieved by the G20 countries in implementing a coordinated agenda and employment commitments. Representatives of Business 20 and Labour 20 also took part in the meeting. The ETF discussed the deliverables of cooperation with social partners on employment issues in 2013.
Another item on the ETF meeting agenda was to consider the input provided by international organizations (ILO, OECD, the World Bank). The meeting participants analyzed and assessed the documents prepared by international organizations and their implications for the future work of the ETF. Additionally, at the meeting the ETF Co-Chairmanship was passed over to Australia and Turkey. The delegates also discussed the Task Force working agenda for 2014.
