Russia presented the Outreach Strategy of its G20 Presidency

The Outreach Strategy of Russia's G20 Presidency is published. The document stresses that Russia will promote an extensive outreach dialogue to enhance the legitimacy and efficiency of the G20 processes.

In this regard, the Russian Presidency will reach out to different partners including non-G20 countries, other multilateral fora, international organizations, private sector, labour unions, future leaders, think tanks and academia, non-governmental organizations and other relevant actors of civil society.

The Russian Presidency's Outreach Strategy is aimed at ensuring that the G20 decisions carry the consent of and have the desired impact on all social spheres, enhancing the public benefit worldwide. Therefore, the core principle of the Russian Presidency's Outreach Strategy is to allow that proposals from all the mentioned groups of external stakeholders are carefully studied, discussed and transmitted to the G20 decision-making level.

The Strategy indicates non-member countries and international organizations that Russia has decided to invite to the G20 St.Petersburg Summit. Non-member invitees include Spain, Ethiopia, Senegal, Kazakhstan, Brunei Darussalam and Singapore.

As for the invited International organizations, the list traditionally includes the Financial Stability Board (FSB), the International Labour Organization (ILO), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Organization of Economic Development and Cooperation (OECD), the United Nations (UN), the World Bank (WB), and the World Trade Organization (WTO).

In addition, the Russian Presidency is committed to engage more countries in the working process including through their participation in selected ministerial meetings, working groups, workshops, conferences and outreach events.

The Strategy also contains the description of the main activities of the Outreach Groups and their working program within the framework of the Russian Presidency.
