G20 and IMF discussed the RFA's role in International Financial Architecture
The seminar on "Regional Financial Arrangements: RFA's role in International Financial Architecture and their cooperation with the IMF" on the eve of the IMF and World Bank Spring Meeting was held on April 17, 2013 in Washington D.C. (USA). Mr. Sergei Storchak, Deputy Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation opened the seminar. He thanked the IMF and Ministry of Strategy and Finance Republic of Korea for their invaluable cooperation in organizing the seminar and called the participants for having live discussion on the strengthening cooperation between the IMF and RFAs within the global financial safety net.
The representatives of the G20 Finance Ministries and Central Banks, academicians and experts from different anti-crises funds, such as CMIM, ESM, FLAR, AMF and ACF attended the meeting. During the seminar, delegates focused their attention on further work in developing current Principles of the IMF and RFAs cooperation, and discussed institutional features of existing RFAs and their role in International Financial Architecture.
The outcomes of the RFAs seminar will be discussed during the G20 Deputies and Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors meetings on April 18-19 in Washington D.C.
